Motorcycle Protective Riding Boots Review

Motorcycle Protective Riding Boots Review

"These waterproof sport-touring adventure boots from Ride Iron are lightweight, comfortable, and suitable for both riding and walking. Made with breathable nylon mesh and TPU, they provide ankle protection and absorb impacts with a shock-absorbing EVA sole. The boots offer great grip on all surfaces and are easy to put on with a pull strap. Although they don't contain leather, they’re durable and perfect for daily use, offering excellent protection while riding your motorcycle."

To test the waterproofing, I stood in a kiddie pool for a few minutes. No water seeped in, except for a slight damp spot near the top edge of one boot, likely from going too deep. Under normal rain conditions, they should hold up well. After three days of riding and walking in light rain, my jeans and jacket got soaked, but my boots remained dry inside. The lace compartment helps with rain protection, though I don’t mind wet laces. After two weeks of use, the boots have proven comfortable, with great arch support and solid waterproofing, making them my top choice for the Sturgis trip.”

“I had my foot in the water for five minutes, and there was no water ingress at all. The water just ran straight off—really solid waterproofing. I was a bit concerned about the laces catching on the pegs, but there’s a flap to tuck them in once tied. They’re not too rigid either—you still get good feedback from the footpeg. They feel flexible but protective. My feet stayed at a comfortable temperature, and overall, the comfort really stands out.”

”I just got my new RIDEIRON riding shoes and I’m genuinely impressed. The design is sleek and the quality feels top-notch right out of the box. The shift pad is larger and firmer than my previous Icon pair, making gear changes feel smooth and controlled. What really stands out is the thick sole, it provides excellent support, whether I’m riding or walking around during the day. Compared to my old Icon shoes, which wore out quickly, these feel much more durable and comfortable. I’ve worn them on my daily commute and could easily keep them on all day at work.  Definitely a great choice for any serious rider.”

“More like trainer-style motorcycle boots but with solid protection: ankle protection, gear shift pad, lace-up with a side zip. Lightweight, comfortable, waterproof, and easy to shift gears in. I love how flexible they are—not too rigid. I chose them because I would genuinely use them on this long trip.”

"This one’s a minimalist, classic sneaker-style boot in matte black. It’s made with breathable materials—great for summer riding and warm climates. The anti-slip sole and reinforced toe and ankle zones add protection, making it ideal for urban and casual riders who want a sleek look with real function. There’s a nice breeze through the shoe, so it’s perfect for hot days, but still comfortable enough for cooler quick rides too.”

“These boots are supremely comfortable both on and off the bike. They have a very flat sole with a step in them like a normal heel, so you don’t have to worry about having your foot in the wrong position. There’s a handy little flap on the outside of the tongue to tuck the laces underneath, which is good to prevent them catching on the gear lever. The sole has plenty of grip and the boots are not bulky like normal bike boots, making them light and flexible. Overall, they’re well made, comfortable, and a great choice for summer riding.”

"I really like these boots, they’ve got a casual style that’s perfect for daily commuting or riding around the city. The suede-like finish looks elegant and feels high quality. I went with size 43 (about a US 9), and while they felt a bit snug at first, they broke in nicely after just a day, becoming much more comfortable. I especially appreciate the ankle design, which makes gear shifting and braking feel smooth and agile, unlike some motorcycle boots that can feel stiff. "

I’ve been wearing these to work and around everywhere I go: to the store and out in the snow because we got lots of that right now. They are waterproof, which is fantastic, so I can walk around in the snow, and my feet don’t get wet, which is a really good thing. And they also have these nice hardened toes on them, and also the heel is hard as well. So it’s got a good stiff heel, like a riding boot should.

“They've got a great feature underneath the on top of the tongue where you can actually hide the laces. So as you tie your laces up, you stick these under the tongue and they are going to be absolutely perfect in keeping those laces out from your pegs, your shifters, anything that could get tangled up. They're a shock absorbable sole. They've got that enhanced foot safety around the ankles. So that's nice and comfy. Now those laces here and the storage to prevent those snags, that's one of the big things that I'm really keen to keep these boots for because it will keep those laces out of the way. ”

“I’ve been using these boots for over three weeks now, and I can confidently say—they’re waterproof. No windchill, no wet feet—just solid protection. I can definitely see myself wearing these on long tours. What’s more, the comfort hasn’t been sacrificed. I’ve walked in them for hours around towns and through the Peak District, and they’ve stayed comfortable throughout. These boots really lean into tour-ready, protective gear.”
